PESHAWAR – July 22, 2026: The Pakistan Nuclear Regulatory Authority (PNRA) successfully conducted an interactive coordination session with major medical and industrial licensees in Peshawar. In the Regional Nuclear Safety Inspectorate–IA (RNSI-IA), Peshawar, the meeting was chaired by the Chairman of PNRA, Mr. Zia Hussain Shah, S.I.

The high-level session served as a vital collaborative platform to reinforce regulatory compliance, address evolving industry operational matters, and strengthen the collective national commitment toward ensuring the safe, secure, and peaceful application of nuclear and radiation technologies across the country.

During his keynote address, Chairman Zia Hussain Shah, S.I. emphasized the paramount importance of cultivating a robust nuclear safety and security culture within all licensed facilities. He underscored the critical role of institutional leadership in meticulously implementing PNRA regulations and upholding stringent radiation protection protocols.

Furthermore, the Chairman highlighted that the operations of the RNSI-IA in Peshawar play a vital role in optimizing PNRA's core regulatory functions. By streamlining local workflows, the inspectorate directly enhances the Authority's comprehensive licensing frameworks, routine safety inspections, and overall emergency response capabilities.

The participating medical and industrial representatives expressed high appreciation for PNRA's proactive approach to stakeholder engagement.
