Workshop on "Authorization and Regulatory Control of Radioactive Discharges from Nuclear and Radiation Facilities" from 27-31 January, 2020, PNRA HQ, Islamabad

PNRA in collaboration with IAEA is organizing a workshop on "Authorization and Regulatory Control of Radioactive Discharges from Nuclear and Radiation Facilities" from 27-31 January, 2020, at PNRA HQs Islamabad under the Pakistan-IAEA Technical Cooperation Program.

The objective of this workshop is to strengthen the capacity of regulatory body and operator to control the radioactive discharges from nuclear installations as well as radiation facilities and to enable them to assess the associated impact on the public and environment. The workshop will cover topics on overview of control of radioactive discharges, concept of dose constraint at multiunit site, the process of authorization, discharges and exposures scenarios, methodologies for the assessment of dose to the public and hands on training on computer codes i.e. PC CREAM and CROM.

The workshop was inaugurated by Member (Power) PAEC on 27 January, 2020 at Dr. Ishfaq Ahmed Auditorium, PNRA HQs, Islamabad. Three (03) IAEA Experts are contributing as resource persons. A total of thirty five (35) participants from PNRA, PAEC and private/public medical centers are attending the workshop.
