National Workshop on Multi-unit Probabilistic Safety Assessment (MUPSA) conducted at PNRA Headquarters, Islamabad during 2–5 June 2025

Pakistan Nuclear Regulatory Authority (PNRA), in collaboration with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), organized a four-day National Workshop on Multi-unit Probabilistic Safety Assessment (MUPSA). The event was held from June 02– 05, 2025, at the National Institute of Safety and Security (NISAS); which is the training centre of PNRA as well as an IAEA Collaborating Centre for Nuclear Safety and Security. The workshop was aimed at enhancing the technical understanding and practical capabilities of safety professionals in the field of Multi-unit Probabilistic Safety Assessment which became important after Fukushima Daichi event. During the workshop, seven (07) experts from IAEA, USA, Canada, Slovakia, Hungary and Korea shared their valuable insights through presentations, working sessions, and interactive discussions with the participants including technical professionals from PNRA and PAEC. The workshop concluded with discussions on enhancing future collaboration in the area under the IAEA Technical Cooperation Programme.
