Inaugural Ceremony of physical protection exterior lab (PPEL)
The Physical Protection Exterior Laboratory (PPEL) has been established by Pakistan Nuclear Regulatory Authority (PNRA) with the assistance of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). The inaugural ceremony of PPEL was held on April 27, 2016 at PCENS, Chakri. Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee General Rashad Mahmood graced the event as Chief Guest. The other honourable guests included Lieutenant General Mazhar Jamil, Director General (SPD), Mr. Muhammad Anwar Habib, Chairman PNRA, Maj. General Allah Ditta Khan, Director General Security and senior management of PNRA.
During the welcome remarks, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee General Rashad Mahmood highly appreciated the efforts of PNRA in the field of Nuclear Safety and Security.
The facility includes a range of state of the art physical protection technologies such as intrusion detection and access control equipment used for exterior applications as part of physical protection systems at nuclear facilities. The facility will be used for research & development and hands-on training of our officials as well as participants from the international community to enable them to design, install, operate and integrate various security systems.
